Our client-centred approach is tailored to the client’s needs, values, and identity. This type of therapy aims to guide and support clients in healing, with the presumption that clients possess the capacity to identify solutions to their problems with the support of a therapist. A client-centred approach is highly collaborative and allows clients to choose their own direction in therapy and to identify what is most important for them to work on with the support of their therapist.
We believe that one’s emotions, thoughts/beliefs, and behaviours are interconnected and should be addressed as a system. These three components are viewed in relation to one another and approached holistically. Through interventions that target maladaptive thoughts & beliefs, behaviours, and emotional wounds & reactions, we support our clients to reflect and become more in tune with this system, leading to improved quality of life, better functioning, and increased sense of control.
Supporting our clients in acquiring skills for coping, self-care, relationships, communication, and self-discovery is key to what we do at Mantra Psychotherapy. We deliver skills training in various ways, including handouts, worksheets, and practicing in session. Psychoeducation is provided to support clients in understanding themselves as they embark on their journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
